12 slices thick French bread or brioche
8 oz softened cream cheese
¼ cup sour cream
¾ cup powdered sugar (plus extra for serving)
10 oz fresh strawberries – diced (plus extra for serving)
2 tsp vanilla extract – divided
6 eggs
1 ⅓ cup milk
6 Tbsp sugar
6 Tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
For serving: maple syrup, fresh strawberries, and powdered sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cream, cinnamon and remaining vanilla extract.
Spread cream cheese mixture between two slices of bread.
Then, melt butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
Carefully dip sandwiches into egg mixture and place into the pan. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
Serve immediately with more fresh strawberries, powdered sugar, and maple syrup.
